Abstract

Global ecological governance constitutes an important component of Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization and the Global Governance Initiative （GGI）. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China， standing against profound changes unseen in a century across the world， Xi Jinping has upheld fundamental tenets while breaking new ground regarding Marx and Engels’ theories on the relationship between humanity and nature， carried forward fine traditional Chinese ecological culture， and inherited and developed the ecological governance philosophies of successive generations of CPC leaders. Having profoundly grasped the challenges and opportunities confronting global ecological governance， he put forward a series of new viewpoints and judgments centering on shared values， scientific concepts， fundamental principles， practical guidance and win-win global outcomes of global ecological governance， forming Xi Jinping’s Important Remarks on Global Ecological Governance. These remarks not only enrich and deepen Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization， but also contribute Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions to advancing the transformation of the global ecological governance system and fostering a community of life for man and nature. Practically， they chart a clear path for pooling global consensus on ecological governance， improving a diversified ecological governance system， developing green-oriented new quality productive forces， boosting capacity for international communication， implementing the four major global initiatives， and advancing the building of a clean and beautiful world.
