Spatial Production Logic of Railway Station-City Integration and Its Practical Path

Abstract

Research on the Integration of Railway Stations and Cities from the Perspective of Space Production Theory aims to clarify the internal relationships among the government, enterprises, and the public in the integration of stations and cities. It embeds the theory of urban space production into the practical field of China’s railway station construction and urban spatial planning to explore practical paths for the integration of railway stations and cities that suit China’s national conditions.Under the three-dimensional logical relationship framework of government-enterprise-public, the spatial production path of railway station-city integration is manifested as follows: the government and enterprises act respectively as guiding factors and driving forces to promote the spatial production of railway station-city integration, while the public plays a role in feedback and regulation in this process. In terms of practical paths, local governments should, while providing planning guidance, appropriately step back to encourage market vitality and safeguard public interests. Meanwhile, they should create a favorable financing environment to activate the potential of enterprises and the market, strengthen supervision to prevent irregular market behaviors, and carry out scientific planning oriented by public interests to enhance the depth and breadth of public participation.
