Research on the Training Mode of Outstanding Engineers for Integrated Circuit Specialty under the Background of Industry-Education Integration

Abstract

Integrated circuits (ICs) is a key domain for national core competitiveness, with its talent cultivation holding strategic significance for China’s scientific and technological strength and economic development. Driven by initiatives including the Outstanding Engineer Education and Training Program and Emerging Engineering Education Initiatives, the education and training of outstanding engineers in integrated circuit (IC) specialty in China have been continuously upgraded and iterated, delivering a large number of specialized talents to the industry. However, the integrated circuit field still faces severe challenges of core technology and talent shortages, coupled with misalignment between the training systems of colleges and universities and the actual needs of enterprises, highlighting the urgency of deepening industry-education integration. From the perspective of industry-education integration, the main problems in the cultivation of outstanding engineers in the integrated circuit specialty are as follows: the curriculum system is biased to theory, the collaboration between school and enterprise mentors is insufficient, there is a lack of real teaching and training platforms, research topics are mostly dominated by schools, and the multi-dimensional evaluation criteria are lacking. To solve these problems, it is necessary to deepen industry-education integration and innovate the training mode for outstanding engineers. The “V model” system architecture of the training mode of Outstanding Engineers for Integrated Circuit Specialty is a beneficial exploration to deepen the integration of industry and education. Centered on university-industry collaboration, this mode reconstructs the entire talent cultivation process from “entry” to “exit” from the aspects of curriculum systems, faculty teams, practical training conditions, research topics, and degree evaluation. It aims to achieve deep integration of industry and education throughout the talent cultivation chain, thereby fostering a large number of outstanding engineers with prominent technological innovation capabilities and expertise in solving complex engineering problems.
