Important Theoretical and Practical Issues to Grasp in the Construction of Ideological and Political Courses: A Study and Reflection on Xi Jinping’s Important Discourse on Strengthening the Construction of Ideological and Political Courses |

Abstract Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, President Xi Jinping has delivered important speeches and made significant instructions on the construction of ideological and political courses in many occasions, putting forward a series of new concepts, ideas and viewpoints, and systematically addressing a series of major theoretical and practical issues concerning the construction of ideological and political courses. To thoroughly study and implement these important discourses so as to further strengthen the construction of ideological and political courses, we should focus on several important theoretical and practical issues, such as the development stage and development direction of ideological and political courses, the essence of ideological and political courses and the relationship between “means”, “principles” and “learning” of ideological and political courses, as well as the effect and evaluation of fulfilling the fundamental task of fostering morality and cultivating talents in ideological and political courses. This will help consolidate consensus and continuously achieve new results in promoting the construction of ideological and political courses.
