Abstract:Based on the cross-system digital transformation theory, this paper explores the process mechanism of adaptive change of digital management from the perspective of management mode transformation with the case study of ByteDance. The results show that ByteDance achieves its management mode transformation from Key Performance Indicator (KPI) to Objectives to Key Results (OKR) through the construction of innovative culture, the design of self-driven organization, and the application of technological coordinative platform. Therefore, this paper proposes a process model of adaptive change of digital management from the perspective of management mode transformation, that is, via innovative enterprise culture, self-driven organizational structure and coordinative technology platform, enterprises are propelled to transform from hierarchical management mode to grid management mode, and establish a management mode that adapts to the digital economy environment. This research provides contextual explanation on the process mechanism of the cross-system digital transformation, and offers practical implications for enterprises to establish a highly adaptable management mode to the rapidly changing market environment, user needs and employees within the enterprise.
